This exciting opportunity is full time, but can fit around school hours for the right candidate, and would be on a fixed term candidate of four years.
The ideal candidate can establish community networks, as relationship management is key for their success. A science degree would be a bonus, but not essential to secure you this role. This position would ideally suit Doc workers, Council (agricultural officers or catchment coordinators) and Westland employees
KEY TASKS
- Lead the delivery of on-farm Good Management Practice (GMP) events that support adopting environmentally sustainable farming practices.
- Lead the delivery of practical field-based farm plan workshops that support farmers to prepare farm plans for their farming enterprises.
- Maintain a regional network of key organisations and individuals involved in sustainable land and water management, catchment management and biodiversity management. This network will include iwi, government departments, regional councils, trustee groups, NGO’s, and research organisations.
- Develop a database of contacts, information sources, funding opportunities and other relevant information. Investigate opportunities for sharing of resources between catchment groups and coordinate this where appropriate.
- Prepare funding applications for new projects and initiatives related to sustainable land and water management, catchment management and biodiversity management.
- Work with regional councils, agribusiness, NGOs, and iwi to maintain an on-line calendar of events facilitated by the Trust and other agencies across the region.

The salary and company benefits on offer reflects this.
$70,000 - $80,000 for the successful candidate, depending on experience
